From a visit to Japan, I was struck by the mix of hyper modern to ancient traditional culture, visible in every day life. In a moment of time, in downtown Tokyo, two women dressed in traditional clothes slightly turn towards each other and bow.
The delicateness, grace and poise spread outwards towards me like a drop of oil upon a pond's surface.
How can the world contain such powerful contrasts?
A contrast born from an act, this act being so very gentle.
The title name is in honor to my sister in-law who through the process of marrying my brother, lost her maiden name.
